With vocal talents and physical beauty like Donna Lorens, its a wonder she always stayed in the background. Barely seen in the movie "Beach Blanket Bingo", shes almost silent while the no-talent Annette sings all of Donna Lorens songs. The possibilities for this hindered star would have been endless..

New York-based, post-rock boogie band Ui clearly have good ideas, but lackluster execution, like Tortoise with sprained hands or lesser record collections. London-based Stereolab, on the other hand, are peerlessly interesting, always pushing the limits of their lush, gurgly-churgly, melodic, joyous sound. One of the ways Stereolab do this is by pretending they have peers: releasing tons of arcane discs by others on their own Duophonic label and inviting the most challenging electronic musicians to destroy their songs for remix records. On Fires, Stereolab and Ui--née Uilab--collaborate well, performing two pleasant, vaguely meandering originals. Then they put together and take apart one of Enos finest rock songs, "St. Elmos Fire"--four times, no less. Its way more fascinating.. |

This is a great little EP. Its a great Brian Eno song made better by Stereolab and UI. The different versions of the song are each unique treasures. Its light and ethereal and still a lot of fun.

My six year old son received this game as a Christmas gift. I played it with him a couple of times while my three year old son was leaning over my shoulder. Unknowing to me my six year old son taught the three year old to play the game, within a very short time. I am very impressed with the Spelling..
