The MZ-NF610 Net MD Walkman recorder provides unrivaled versatility, offering not only MD playback, but a special tuner for listening to AM-FM radio as well as TV and weather-band programming right from the remote control. Sonys minidisc format became a portable digital music standard before the age of MP3s. Sadly, though, minidisc lost its favor as MP3 players became ubiquitous. Sony aims to flare back up with their NetMD line, minidisc players that can also connect to your PC for transferring downloaded music. As we ran the NetMD MZ-N1 through its paces, we were often pleasantly surprised, and sometimes downright annoyed, but mostly impressed with this pricey but versatile digital music player. First off, you can use the optical connection cable to transfer songs directly from your stereo (CD player, DVD player, Xbox, etc.) to the NetMD. Recently purchased and it lasted all of two weeks before CDs got stuck. Terribly disappointed and when we returned it, even the customer service people concurred - they get these back all the time. Not a great product - even though the price is tempting...

The slim-design Sony ZSM7 personal audio system makes it stylishly easy to listen to your music library, whether its on MiniDisc (MD) or CD. In addition to playing music, the ZSM7 can also record music onto MD. The ZSM7 has repeat once, repeat all, random shuffle, and programmed playback modes. The radio has 24 total presets (12 each for FM and AM), and its "auto preset" function automatically displays station names for up to 12 stations.
