Its Not Your Fault, Koko Bear: Osread-Together Book for Parents & Young Children During Divorce Mpt
How do you talk to your children about your divorce? How can you best handle their responses? Heres a childrens book and parenting tool rolled into one. Its Not Your Fault, Koko Bear is a picture book designed to be read by parents to their children. Koko Bears parents are getting a divorce, and Koko, a preschool-aged unisex bear, isnt happy about it. "I dont like this divorce. I dont want two homes," Koko says. Koko Bears story doesnt minimize kids pain, but it doesnt wallow in it either. The message is positive: children are reassured that their feelings are natural, that their parents still love and will care for them, and that the divorce is not their fault. At the bottom of each page, there are bullet points for parents that give information and advice about what the kids are going through, and the best way to handle each issue as it arises. (Ages 3 to 7 and parents)

Its Not Your Fault Koko Bear, is an excellent read aloud for a younger child. The fact that Koko is not gender specific makes it appropriate for all children and answers questions that many of the children will have. It is a lovely story and parents, grandparents,or councelors could make use of it.
A must-read for pre-school kids of divorce! (

In December of 1999, I was planning my wedding. In February 2000, my then-fiance broke our engagement (and went on to marry someone else). I was quite devastated by the breakup and went through many levels of anguish. There were also lots of things for me to work on -- like, what I might have done t..

As the other reviewers have already said, this is a good book. It is very Christian oriented, however. For instance, the "building self esteem" essay basically tells you to turn to God for self esteem, and that it is Satan that is trying to keep you down. Seriously. I also do not recommend this if y..
