The internal Hard Disk Drive (HDD) offers PS2 games an extended gaming world by providing a dynamic experience through expanded applications, downloadable entertainment content, and episodic play experiences. The Hard Disk Drive comes pre-installed with Square Enixs highly anticipated massively multiplayer online role-playing game Final Fantasy XI. The combination of hard drive and network adapter (sold separately) allows for the first time cross-platform play between the PlayStation 2 and a personal computer over the Internet.
The Hard Disk Drive (HDD) slides into the back of the PS2. The separately sold Network Adapter attaches to the HDD.
In Final Fantasy XI, PlayStation 2 and PC players can create communities, as well as alter-egos that can be completely customized by race, sex, nation of origin, trade skill specialties, and numerous other physical traits. These communities co-exist in the world of Vanadiel. Users can immerse themselves in an expansive, original storyline that eventually builds the worlds history. Vanadiel is made up of vast, never-ending environments with more than 100 areas to explore. It is composed of three unique nations--one of which players choose to inhabit--and once players start their adventure, they may congregate, chat and do battle with the forces of evil, creating Vanadiels history through these interactions. Communication tools have been incorporated into Final Fantasy XI to assist in interaction between players, including easy-to-use chat and messaging systems.
Once online, you can join parties with other PS2 players--and even players of the PC edition of the game.
Final Fantasy XI allows gamers to live in a truly persistent world that changes and evolves every time a player logs on.
The first truly trans-Pacific game experience online with no barriers with either platform or geography. Personal computer and console gamers can play aside each other in this new world whether they are in the U.S. or Japan.

Im not sure if it can get any better than this. If there was a perfect MMORPG, this is it.
-INSANE graphics (for an MMORPG). The areas are detailed and ENORMOUS, and the character designs are wonderful. Stunningly beautiful in every way.
-Sound can get a little repetative, but this only happens

Final Fantasy is by far the biggest game I have ever played! I spent 4 hours just wandering around Sandoria (Elvaan city). Anyway, the amount of things one can do in this game are almost limitless. You can fish, be a blacksmith, do carpentry, alchemy, form parties with people, trade/auction items wi

This product falls short in design, materials, and execution. The unit comes well packed, but even so I had to return the 1st one, and then had to reinforce the bottom of the second stand I received since it was cracked. Sony has chosen to use particle board with edge banding for most of the parts. ..
The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (Platinum Series Special Extended Edition)
In every aspect, the extended-edition DVD of Peter Jacksons epic fantasy The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring blows away the theatrical-version DVD. No one who cares at all about the film should ever need to watch the original version again. Well, maybe the impatient and the squeamish will still prefer the theatrical version, because the extended edition makes a long film 30 minutes longer and theres a bit more violence (though both versions are rated PG-13). But the changes--sometimes whole scenes, sometimes merely a few seconds--make for a richer film. Theres more of the spirit of J.R.R. Tolkien, embodied in more songs and a longer opening focusing on Hobbiton. Theres more character development, and more background into what is to come in the two subsequent films, suc..

Big Russ and Me: Father and Son--Lessons of Life
Veteran newsman and Meet the Press moderator Tim Russert is known for his direct and unpretentious style and in this charming memoir he explains why. Russerts father is profiled as a plainspoken World War II veteran who worked two blue-collar jobs while raising four kids in South Buffalo but the elder Russerts lessons on how to live an honest, disciplined, and ethical life are shown to be universal. Big Russ and Me, a sort of Greatest Generation meets Tuesdays with Morrie, could easily have become a sentimental pile of mush with a son wistfully recalling the wisdom of his beloved dad. But both Russerts are far too down-to-earth to let that happen and the emotional content of the book is made more direct, accessible, and palatable because of it. The relationship ..

This is a heartwarming, uplifting book. Tim Russerts "Big Russ & Me" encompasses both his own life story and the story of his father ("Big Russ.") The senior Russert grew up in a working class family in South Buffalo, New York and went off to play his part in World War II as a member of the Army Air..
